In the past couple of weeks I have come to realize that studying full-time was not the most efficient way to study for CCIE. The reality is that there is only so much information that a person can assimilate per day. This is why for the past couple of weeks I’ve been looking for a job in a large enterprise that would give me access to practice MPLS, multicast, QoS and BGP.
Yesterday, I got job in a very large financial institution that will allow me to get access to these technologies and also set myself for long-term career advancements. I will be working mostly with 6500’s and doing R&S troubleshooting and engineering. They have a very large multicast network and so I have been studying a lot on multicast technologies (I will be doing a multicast review in the next week). My goal for hour 100 is to finish reading on multicast and for hour 100 to 200 to finish reading MPLS Fundamentals, finish Routing TCP/IP Vol 1-2 (Skipped some Chapters to focus on core) and start and finish QoS 2nd edition Cert guide. For hour 200 to 250 I will read CCIE OCG to review everything. After all of this, the reading will be finished and I will be able to start doing INE labs. When I finish Book 1 of the INE’s series I will go and pass the written exam. I will keep posting updates at least once a week.
